Send a Christmas card to a child at the Evangel Children’s Home in Hong Kong!
Our church has a long-standing tradition of sending Christmas cards to the children at the Evangel Children’s Home. The Evangel Children’s Home was established in Hong Kong in 1956 by Ruth Sundquist, who was a long-standing member of EFCCL.
Its original goal was to provide a caring and loving Christian home for orphans and later expanded to include non-orphans. The demand for such services increased over the years, and living quarters for children were established in 1961. With the love of our Lord Jesus, Evangel strives to care for and teach children from broken homes, provided houses for them, encourage them to grow with the Lord’s guidance and love to become healthy individuals, and educate them to take their place as useful citizens in the communities.
Bless a child this Christmas…
This year will look a little different when it comes to choosing a child to send a Christmas card to. Please choose a name from the list by clicking in the box next to the words "sign up." You may choose as many names as you like where the words "sign up" appear. Once you choose the name(s), scroll down and click on "Submit and Sign Up." The next page will have a space for a comment (optional) and a phone number (required). Once you've entered your phone number, please click on "Sign Up Now."
How to send your Christmas Card:
Purchase a Christmas card (or grab one from the booth in the lobby) and enclose a $10 bill.
Write a short note and sign your name. Leave space for the workers at the home to translate your note.
Write only the CHILD’S NUMBER (#) AND NAME on the card’s envelope.
Do not attach a U.S. postage stamp (all cards will be mailed together)
Return the card to church NO LATER THAN DECEMBER 1!
Place the card in the box at the booth in the lobby or return it to the church office during the week.
Please bring cards back to church on NO LATER THAN 12/1.
