Happy Friday!!

It's also Halloween, so I will be taking a half day today to go with Jen, Abby, and several of our friends around the neighborhood. Abby is JoJo the circus clown. If you don't know who that is, you probably don't have a young child. Don't feel too bad. ;)

In other news, I've been keeping busy here. I've been hanging some lights for Christmas. Next week I will start focusing them. That has been taking up most of my time: planning for Christmas.

I've also been finishing up doing some routine maintenance on the computers here. I just finished this week with all of them.

Next week I also start duplicating the Sundae Sing CD. They should be available Sunday, November 9th.

This weekend we change the clocks back one hour.

And one more thing: vote on Tuesday. Do it first thing, during lunch, or after work; doesn't matter, just vote. I will be up Tuesday night watching the returns on CNNHD, probably with a bowl of popcorn, having fun dissecting the results. (Yes, I'm a dork).

Update

Jen and I had a great weekend away in Michigan. We went to a Bed & Breakfast in South Haven, which was gorgeous and very relaxing. Although we did miss being here on Sunday and are looking forward to being back.

I have been keeping busy. Jon's new laptop is up and running as is the one at the receptionist desk that Yvonne and Pat share. Those will probably be the last 2 purchased for a while.

I have been working on the inventory and am almost done. The big addition this time has been the purchase date of each item and the purchase price. I'm still missing several prices, but I think I can do some research and find those.

Christmas pre-production is coming along nicely. Doug is almost done with all the stage plots and Sheri is already busy making props. I am working on the lighting plot and will be ordering some cable. This is because I need to hang several lights in places that are not near circuits. We will again be borrowing headset mics from Amy Runyon. New this year, will be the staging. We will be renting the staging and using it in a different way. You'll have to wait to see how. ;)

In other news, I wanted to let you know about a really good new study Bible. The ESV Study Bible has just been released. The ESV Bible has been around for a while and has been praised for its balance of accurate translation and the readability. My father-in-law is a "Bible-junkie" and I was able to peek at his. It is very good. The notes, aids, maps, pictures, and references are incredible. You can pick it up pretty much anywhere Bibles are sold and Amazon has it for $32 with free shipping. If you are looking for a new study Bible, I highly recommend it (I think I've given enough hints to Jen for a Christmas gift for me).

That's about it for now. Remember that this Sunday, October 19th is the reception for the Bruns family. And next Sunday, October 26th is the annual Business Meeting.

Video Monitors

Sorry for the lack of posts lately. I've been extremely busy with the inventory project and Christmas meetings. Then Jon's laptop died, so that took up most of my week. He's finally getting a new one. He deserves it.

Starting this weekend, video mixers will have more monitors. Rob Soukup from Arlington Heights EV Free donated some preview monitors to us. I've got them hooked up, but we might play with their physical placement.

Well, I'm off. Everyone have a great weekend, and we'll see you on Sunday!
