Old=Relevant?

|
So a few weeks ago, we played the music video for Steven Curtis Chapman's song, "Busy Man." This was released in 1990. I realize that some of you were either just born or not even born yet. And yes, even though it played it on DVD on Sunday, it was actually on VHS (that's Vertical Helical Scan for you youngins).

Why an almost 20 year old video? Why not something newer and hip? Why not re-do it for today?

Well, frankly, we felt that the message of the song outweighed the age factor. Yes, the cell phone was quite large, and the instrumentation was a bit dated. But the honesty in the lyrics and the timelessness of the story in the video were what made the video. I know it's a good reminder to me.

So, you might be wondering then why am I posting while I'm on vacation. Well, I'm not. Through the wonders of the magical world of the internet, I wrote this last week, and I set the blog to publish it this week so you would have something to read while I'm gone. My plan is to relax in Atlanta. We'll go to the library to get Abby some books for the week and hopefully I can find a non-techie book to read.
